WHY?
Because Grande Dame Literary Journal began at a time when many women writers were suddenly being overlooked. Good stories, factual or fictitious, were in abundance, but few journals were accepting the work. After hearing of rejection after rejection, our editors having the same experiences with their submissions, found a solution. Create an online journal that supported women writers.

We looked for characters who had agency. Stories with a beginning, middle, and an end. Memoirs read like stories. Our writers run the gamut from newbies, to self-published novelists, to award winning, traditionally published.
